Training grants

Training organisations affiliated with HotellerieSuisse that train trainees with the additional vocational baccalaureate 1 qualification can apply for an annual training bonus of CHF 2,000 per trainee for each completed apprenticeship year.

Training organisations affiliated with HotellerieSuisse that train trainees with disabilities in the primary labour market can apply for an annual training bonus of CHF 2,000 per trainee for each completed apprenticeship year.

Trainees in the hotel and catering sectors can apply for a one-off training grant to cover the cost of their initial equipment. The grant can be used for teaching materials or work equipment (e.g. workwear, kitchen knives, shoes, teaching materials including learning software, laptop).

Apprentices employed by a member company of HotellerieSuisse who are attending vocational school at a HF Thun training hotel receive a one-off contribution of up to CHF 1,000 for travel to and from the training hotel from their place of residence, as well as for weekend accommodation, provided that travelling home is not reasonable (guideline: 3 hours).

Students enrolled in the HGT Commercial Assistant EFZ training programme at Minerva Schools can apply for a training grant of CHF 2,500 upon completion of their first year of apprenticeship.

Adults undertaking basic training in accordance with Art. 32 of the Hotel and Catering Professions Act in member establishments of HotellerieSuisse may apply annually for a training grant of CHF 2,500 to help cover training costs. (After completion of the apprenticeship year)

Students can apply for a Tschumi scholarship of up to CHF 12,000 to study at the Thun Hotel Management School towards a Diploma in Hotel and Catering Management (HF).

Students can apply for a Tschumi Scholarship of up to CHF 12,000 towards their Bachelor’s degree in International Hospitality Management and/or Master’s degree in Hospitality Management at the Hospitality Business School in Lausanne.

Students can apply for a Tschumi scholarship of up to CHF 12,000 to study at the Passugg Hotel Management School towards a Diploma in Hotel and Catering Management (HF).

Trainees studying to become hotel communications specialists under the school-based model at the Passugg Hotel Management School can apply for an annual grant of up to CHF 2,500 if their home canton does not cover the training costs for trainees from outside the canton.
